July 11, 2004 - Got an early start since Wind Gap was only 4 miles away. Packed up everything as quick as possible and left without eating since I had no food left. Made it there in good time but had to hike 1.5 miles off the trail to the supermarket. Got breakfast of chocolate milk and donuts since it was Sunday morning. Got back on the trail and made my way to Delaware Water Gap which is the border of PA and NJ. As I made my way to DWG the rocks started to die away and got smoother. Got to DWG around dinner time so I got a bite to eat then crossed the Delaware River into NJ and hiked 4.5 miles to a campsite. When I arrived there were a few other hikers already set up. I heard that NJ has a bad problem with bears and you have to hang your food but I was being lazy and it was late so I just kept my food in my tent. A good 25 miles today, always good to start a new state.
