Day 6: Muskrat Creek Shelter to Big Spring Shelter (19.3 miles)

May 18, 2004 - I finally made it to the top of Albert Mt. The rain stopped about 30 minutes ago so I had somewhat of a good view, but still foggy. Today was a hard day since it rained pretty hard most of it. I put in another 20 miles and staying at Big Spring shelter on top of Albert Mt. Paul, Dan and I all stayed together for most of the day. I tend to leave later than them but I’m a much faster hiker and end up catching them a few miles down the trail. We were trying to get to the next shelter as soon as we could to beat other hikers there so we could have first pick of shelter room. I’m off to bed early, only 6:30 pm.
